Digital street data of Tele Atlas enables various GIS applications to optimize company-internal processes.
Use of CISSMap-data with a Smallworld-multiple branch application and an address location by CISSMap-Navigator
The cartographic map representation, high topicality and the convincing cost-benefit of CISSMap induced the N-ERGIE AG to use the data companywide. CISSMap forms a subset of MultiNet and is the ideal database for a multitude of applications.
The N-ERGIE AG, based in Nuernberg, provides an area which covers a majority of Middle Franconia, parts of Lower Franconia and Upper Bavaria as well as peripheral areas of Swabia and the Upper Palatinate with the sections natural gas, district heating and water. The net area adds up to 15% of the surface of the Free State of Bavaria.
CISSMap enables a mask-supported fast address search and thus an excellent orientation about the own mains, which are documented in Smallworld for all mentioned sections.
By suitable data preparation it was possible to integrate the data into other already existing applications without additional efforts for the modulation of the applications. The module Smallworld Scout serves as a companywide information system for more than 500 employees. Now in quasi all specialist departments the data support the daily work. In marketing CISSMap is used for the determination of new customer potentials. Inquiries of potential customers can be answered by entering their address and determination of a net availability "on demand". Based on CISSMap construction measures are prepared, the net and failure management also works on this reliable data basis.
A link to the existing system for the administration of the operational funds (SAP) is to be realized in the future. For this a linkage of the DATA Factory Streetcode data (address information of the German post office direct without spatial reference) with CISSMap, merged in SAP, was made. A high per cent part of the data maintained in the resource database could be connected with the graphic by an automated alignment of the addresses. Now a simple allocation between SAP and Smallworld is possible by a countrywide uniform street key.
The Tele Atlas data are also passed on to mobile units. In this way high-quality and topical data is available for the mechanics disposal for orientation e.g. in case of failures.
Further applications such as geocoding of the company-own data for purposes of analysis or a use for light Routing applications etc. are possible.
